Lay Missionary Celebration

19 October 2014

Bishop Olivier Schmitthaeusler today organized a Lay Missionaries Day for the vicariate (diocese) of Phnom Penh. He invited all the lay missionaries from all the different groups to a Sunday morning liturgy on this Mission Sunday, and then there was a time to meet and discuss, and finally there was a lunch together.

After the mass at which lay missioners took prominent roles, they all met with Bishop Olivier to discuss their needs and to hear his ideas about the church in Phnom Penh.
Lunch together with the bishop
The special morning ended with a lunch together with Bishop Olivier. He is very personable and tries to get to know the people of the diocese and to make himself available for various events.
